The opening weekend of the ski and snowboard season at Holiday Valley was nothing short of incredible! The cold weather arrived just in time for the Snowmaking Team to put in a solid stretch of snowmaking, and Mother Nature delivered...blanketing the slopes with approximately 40" of snow in the days leading up to Opening Day. Families, friends, and thrill-seekers gathered to kick off the season, and the vibes across the resort were absolutely electric.
This year, Holiday Valley had some exciting upgrades, including new snowmaking guns that ensured the slopes were in fantastic shape for Opening Day. It’s a great sign for the season ahead, and got people into the perfect frame of mind early in December. Whether you're a seasoned skier or brand-new to snowboarding, the winter scenery and excitement of being open made it easy to hit the slopes and have a blast.
When the sun set, the fun didn’t stop. Night skiing brought a whole new vibe to the resort. With the trails lit up against the dark winter sky, the slopes felt like a playground for adventure under the stars. It was a perfect way for families to make the most of their day—whether you’re a morning person or a night owl, there was plenty of time to make a lot of turns.
The opening weekend wasn’t just about skiing and snowboarding — it was about families and friends coming together, sharing laughs on the chairlift, and creating moments that will become stories told for years to come. From the anticipation of that first ride up the lift to the thrill of carving down the mountain, Holiday Valley proved once again why it’s a beloved destination for winter fun.
